Packaging tests

Pira works with packaging manufacturers, their customers and suppliers on issues related to primary pack performance

Examples include pack integrity, label adhesion and BSDA sports closure tests. Oxygen and water vapour barrier testing is carried out using the latest Mocon apparatus.

Test facilities include cabinets with programmable temperature and humidity cycling and a walk-in temperature controlled test chamber. A twin-compartment thermal shock chamber offers an almost instantaneous transfer between temperature extremes.

We are UKAS, ISO 17025 accredited for testing of medical device packaging to BS EN 868.

Primary Packaging tests often involve bespoke tests for which no "standard" exists.
