Distribution Testing of Packaged Products

For more than 50 years Pira has been providing Distribution Testing and Consulting services and solutions to both retail and industrial goods supply chains. Our expertise and experience positions us to support clients facing the key issues of today:

Distribution Testing and Package Testing
These services are focused on package testing (also called pre-shipment testing, distribution testing and transit testing): Laboratory evaluation of packaged goods performance through simulation of shipment, storage, handling and climatic conditions. Our laboratories are located in Europe and North America, with package testing facilities at London, UK; Lansing, Michigan; Sunnyvale, California; and Huntington Beach, California.

Logistics and Supply Chain Technical Solutions
These services are through projects involving field activities as well as laboratory testing. Services include supply chain auditing to assess damage and cost reduction opportunties, field data recording as part of test protocol development and distribution packaging improvement studies including damage reduction.

Fragile Product Testing
These services are focused on laboratory testing of fragile products, either in their packaged state for distribution or in an unpackaged state. This specialist area is supported by Pira's extensive knowledge of shock testing and vibration testing, and our expertise in durability and fragilty testing and evaluation.

Our laboratories are located in Europe and North America, with package testing facilities at London, UK; Lansing, Michigan; Sunnyvale, California; and Huntington Beach, California.

Our expertise is drawn from throughout the supply chain, having understanding of the drivers and challenges of raw materials providers, converters, packer/fillers, brand owners, logistics providers, retailers and waste management organisations.
