Distribution and transit


World class testing facilities

Pira's four transit testing laboratories allow controlled simulation of the physical elements of the supply process, from end of line to point of sale, and beyond to customer/consumer use, including:

  • Road, rail and air shipment (vibration) and sea distribution
  • Mechanical handling (fork lift, electric pallet trucks, container handling, automated pallet and case handling)
  • Courier and parcel delivery
  • Manual handling (at 3rd party, brand owner or retailer distribution centre)
  • In-store operations (drop and shock impacts, trolley handling, shelf loading)
  • Warehousing and storage (stacking, compression)
  • Mixed load shipments (point loading, roll cages, mixed pallets)
  • Climatic conditioning (ambient, chilled, frozen, tropical, elevated temperature, sub-zero region, shower tests)
