IGT printability

IGT printability testingThe printability of paper and board is assessed in the laboratory at Pira using an IGT AIC2-5 printability tester. It is used in the testing of:

  • Ink and paper compatibility, print drying times, print quality, print mottle, coating pick and wet pick.
  • Abrasion or rub resistance, ink adhesion, light fastness, product and chemical resistance.
  • Colour (CIELAB), density and gloss measurements.
  • "Value for money" ink mileage.
