Drape coefficient

Pira can determine the drape coefficient of non-woven materials, woven materials, tissue, creped paper and a range of other paper materials.

Drape testing is performed using a drape tester which allows the determination of the drape coefficient of a material. The drape coefficient is usually quoted as percentage (%) of drape. Drape is typically used to compare and characterise, the behaviour of medical papers and non woven materials.

Pira is UKAS, ISO 17025 accredited for drape testing against International standard ISO 9073/9 which forms part of British Standard BS EN 868: Part2: "Packaging materials and systems for medical devices which are to be sterilized: sterilisation wrap, requirements and test methods".
